Mangaluru, Nov 2: Mangaluru south constituency unit of Congress party held protest in front of the office of the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday November 2, expressing anger at the removal of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director by the union government.

Former MLA of the constituency, J R Lobo, who inaugurated the programme, accused Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi, of not having any faith in the constitutional bodies.

"Modi has been constantly attacking institutions like CBI, Election Commission of India, legislative assemblies, Lok Sabha etc. He wants these bodies to function as per his diktats. When he got the inkling that CBI might take up investigation of Rafale deal, he immediately planned to remove its director, Alok Verma from the post. He passed order for Verma's removal at midnight on October 24, and appointed an interim director. This is tantamount to disregarding our constitution," he stated.

MLC, Harish Kumar, sho also addressed the protesters, charged the PM of not being prepared to waive loans given to farmers, while on the other hand, allowing people like Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi to escape to other countries with dues of over Rs 35,000 crore to the banking system. "Vijay Mallya has cheated the banks to the tune of Rs 9,000 crore. Lalit Modi is one such offender. Modi and his ministerial colleagues have gained from the Rafale deal. The entire deal was planned for the benefit of business tycoon, Ambani. We, on behalf of Indian citizens, are condemning the ouster of CBI director, and demand for ordering a thorough probe into the Rafale deal," he stated.

MLC, Ivan D'Souza, former MLA, Shakuntala Shetty, Asha D Silva, Ibrahim Kodijal, Taranth Kallige, Praveenchandra Alva and Mithun Rai were present.

Courts have got involved. CVC is investigating. Why politicize the whole issue. Allegations and counter-allegations are far serious to use the latest episode for political score-settling.
Instead Congress should join hands will all parties to rid corruption in bureaucracy. We try to name and shame politicians for corruption. At least you can vote out a corrupt politician or a party once in 5 years. But it is the bureaucracy that provides continuity. Hence, corruption in bureaucracy is far more dangerous and deep rooted. These are conveniently ignored by mainstream media, and even the electorate.

First let Raul Vinci Khan file a case before throwing any allegations. Has he got it in him to that ? Let him come out of National Herald case first. Yes its 54 inch, his party is ruling 22 states. Unlike your clown prince who has 33 defeats and 22 state losses and surviving by hanging on to Doddwa Gowdru's in the state.
