Kasargod: Man climbs mobile tower, threatens suicide – rescued by fire brigade

Kasargod, Nov 2: A man, who felt dejected as his land problems were not sorted out even though he complained about them, climbed mobile tower in the premises of DC office here in protest and refused to get down from there for about two hours.

P K Mohandas (54) from Karadka, Nelliyadka is the person who climbed the tower. Fire service personnel brought him down later.



Mohandas tried to commit suicide from the tower by tying a rope round his neck. The people, who saw it, immediately complained to Vidyanagar police station. Mohandas said he would commit suicide if his complaint was not sorted within 24 hours.

Mohandas refused to get down initially even after deputy commissioner in Thiruvananthapuram tried to speak to Mohandas on his mobile.

Every person watching the incident was relieved after Mohandas was brought down by fire personnel.
