Bangalore Nov 12: State BJP president D V Sadanand Gowda said that the policies of nepotism and corruption owned by the Congress leaders have come out into the open because of the Margaret Alva incident.
Speaking to reporters after the conclusion of a function organized for the oath-taking of the newly-elected members of the legislative council on Tuesday November 11 at the Vidhan Soudha, Gowda said that the opportunist principles followed by the Congress party all along, have now been adversely affecting its leaders.
The reluctance of the Congress high command to examine allegations leveled by Alva gives rise to various doubts. Are the leaders afraid that the irregularities committed in selling party tickets for money will come out if an investigation is conducted,? Gowda questioned.
"The Congress is suffering from various problems like selling of tickets, casteist politics etc. The new state president and working president of the party are finding not enough time to address these problems. How can they devote time for organizational activities,?" Gowda questioned. He also said that the leaders including Jalappa and Margaret Alva are welcome to join the BJP provided they accept the principles and policies of the party. While the BJP is open to admit new leaders into its fold, the party cannot neglect its senior workers, he clarified.
