Mangaluru, Oct 29: Of late, coastal Karnataka has been experiencing hot weather during the day and the temperature cools during the nights. There has been wide difference between the customary temperature pattern experienced in the coast and the current weather condition.
On Sunday, highest temperature of 35.7 degree Celsius was recorded in the city. This is about five degrees above normal during this period of the year. At the same time, minimum temperature dived by three degree Celsius at night. The minimum temperature at night stood at 21.3 degree Celsius.
The highest temperature of 38.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Karwar, where minimum temperature stood at 20.7 degree. The temperature registered at Madikeri was 15.8 degree Celsius, and Kodagu has been experiencing lower temperatures than before.
The meteorological department has said that surface wind has been showing increase in velocity over Bay of Bengal. It predicted rain coupled with lightning in coastal Karnataka for two to three days beginning Thursday. If the wind transforms into low pressure area, the coast might get good rainfall, it predicted.
