Mangalore, Nov 12: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Staff and Workers Union has urged the government not to make compromises on its decision to nationalise the national highways and city routes in Dakshina Kannada district.
The union has asked the government to nationalise regions in phases. At the same time, it has requested the government to provide job security to people who are working in the transport sector, duly providing concessions in educational qualifications wherever necessary by extending weightage to experience, concession in upper age limit and to ensure that eligible staff working in private buses do not face injustices.
It has also urged the government to introduce new buses in the city-Kasargod route as per the High Court verdict immediately. The government has also been pressed to appoint people from the district while filling up vacant posts here.
