Chikmagalur, Nov 11: A state-level convention of Christian leaders was held at St Josephs’ jubilee hall here, under the aegis of the Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations recently.
Fr Daniel D’Souza, parish priest of St Joseph's Church, inaugurated the programme and graced the occasion. Michael Baptist, state secretary of the Federation, Denis D’Silva, convener, Andrew D’Souza, local unit president, John Monis, journalist and others were present on the occasion.
A handbook on the federation was released on the occasion. Discussions were held about strengthening the Christian organizations in the state and facing the challenges currently faced by the Christian community.
Montu Fernandes of Karwar, Roy Castelino from Mangalore, John W D’Souza of Balehonnur, Joseph J Pinto of Sakaleshpur and Philip Saldanha of Belur put forward their suggestions.
Rubin Moses welcomed the gathering. Joseph Lobo proposed vote of thanks. James D’Souza compered the programme.
