Bangalore, Nov 11: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa informed on Monday November 10 that the state will soon enact Karnataka Control of Organized Crime Act (KCOCA) in the state.

He was speaking in a press conference, after participating in an interactive meeting with senior police officials on Monday November 10.

"The immediate priority before the government is to enforce KCOCA in line with the similar Act that is in force in Maharashtra. A committee of senior officials has been entrusted with this job. The government will not compromise on taking steps necessary to ensure internal security," Yeddyurappa declared.

"The Anti Terrorist Cell (ATC) of the state will be strengthened to regulate terrorism and organized crimes in the state. As the Anti-Naxal Force also comes under the ATC, additional forces will be deployed in the coastal belt.  For want of facilities, officers are hesitant to come to the ATC. Special facilities will be made available for such officials, he promised.

He also advised the policemen not to view every one who comes to the police station as a criminal but to deal with them properly. The image of the government gets influenced by the way the police department functions, he added.
