Mangalore, Nov 9: Mairpady Narendra, has been appointed the executive director of the Bank of India, and assumed office recently. Prior to this, he was the chief general manager with Corporation Bank. He had been heading its credit division since April 2005.
He joined Corporation Bank in 1975 and rose through the ranks rapidly. His banking career spanning 33 years, is rich with field experience and administrative acumen. Narendra worked as a branch head in different capacities ranking from manager to assistant general manager in various branches situated all over the country including rural postings and metropolitan ones.
Narendra successfully handled varied portfolios in operations and administration such as foreign exchange, financial and risk management, investment and international banking, precious metals, cash management services, and subsidiary in important positions. He was in charge of the Delhi region of the bank for which he secured the award for outstanding performance as a regional head. He was a member of the Chairman’s Club for eight years in a row and also secured super ordinate goal awards many times.
