Mangaluru Oct 19: Friends Ballalbagh Biruver Kudla led by Uday Poojary along with its young entrepreneurs, are famed for lending a helping hand to the needy.

On the occasion of Dasara, Biruver Kudla organised Huli Vesha (Tiger Dance) for a noble cause here at Ballalbagh on Friday, October 19.

The tiger dance of Friends Ballalbagh mesmerised the audience with variety of tiger dance steps and stunts. Close to Rs 17 lac collected by the group has been donated to 35 families who are suffering from cancer and other diseases.

Friends Ballalbagh Biruver Kudla have been doing this philanthropic act since the last four years. Actor Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Vedaanth, son of Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath also danced to the music of tiger dance.

The charity work by the group is not limited to Billawa community. They donate money to all communities including Christians and Muslims. Biruver Kudla and its members donate money on a monthly basis to the poor.

'Kinni Pili' contest

Biruver Kudla Bantwal unit organised 'Kinni Pili contest'. Kids dressed up as tigers had to post their pics in Instagram. As many 39 entries were received and 10 kids were selected for the final round.

Rishika Kaikamba, Shruthan Chilimbi and Prashwi Suvarna bagged first three prizes in Kinni Pili contest, while Tanmay, Ashlesh Kottara and Akshad Kotian bagged first three prizes in Kinni pili cute face category.

RJ Rashmi compered the event.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty, Moodbidiri MLA Umanath Kotian, actress Karishma Amin, producer Rajesh Bhramavar and others were present.
