Bagalkote, Oct 17: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday, October 17 that he has decided to bid adieu to electoral politics.
Speaking at a public programme in Guledagudda town in Badami on October 17, Siddaramaiah said, "I have faced as many as 13 elections. I am 71-year-old. I will work for five years on whatever post I am holding and I will not contest elections anymore."
He opined that to undertake developmental activities, one does not need to contest an election. "Since I am the MLA of Badami, I am also from north Karnataka," he said with a smile.
He also conveyed Dasara wishes to the people of north Karnataka.
