Mangalore, Nov 7: A seminar on 'Bhootaradhane', a system of worshipping and appeasing the demi-gods followed in the coastal region was held at the Gandanadu Eshwara Kripa Samaj Bhavan of Padavinangady in city recently.
Speaking on the occasion, leader of Panara Sangh Lokaiah Bangera noted that Bhootaradhane is a traditional art form of worshipping the demi-gods. It is a matter of honour and reverence to participate in the 'Bhootaradhane', he said. All the worshippers should oppose the widespread practice of making a mockery of and bringing disrepute to this sublime form of worship by all and sundry who imitate this art in road shows, stage shows, fancy dress competitions etc. he urged.
If this kind of profanity of this sacred tradition is not opposed, one may soon find the 'Bhootaradhane' artistes performing at the holy places of other religions, he warned.

Prabhakar Sootarpet gave information on a memorandum about the Pambada community submitted to the deputy commissioner and presented a report on the struggle of the Pambada Samaj Sangh made through the Daivadigara Sangh, drawing the government's notice to several issues.
