Davanagere, Oct 6: Bus driver Prakash from KSRTC Davanagere division is in trouble for allowing a gray langur to ‘perform’ his work.
The gray langur is seen sitting comfortably on the steering wheel while Prakash is giving control of the steering wheel to it even while changing gears.
The incident happened on October 1 when the bus was on its way from Davanagere to Bharamasagara.
A KSRTC official has said that the driver has been relieved from duty. The divisional security inspector has been asked to conduct an enquiry and submit a report. The driver is likely to face suspension.
The animal belonged to a teacher who travels regularly in the bus accompanied by it. The langur which apparently ‘thought’ of driving the bus, climbed on the steering wheel and refused to leave it for about ten minutes.
Surprisingly no passengers submitted a written complaint about it.
KSRTC management, following outcries from people after the video went viral, said that the driver will be given a desk job in place of driver’s job if his negligence is proved.
