Mangalore, Nov 3: The library expansion cum book release function organized by the Coastal Authoresses and Women Readers Association was held at the Sahitya Sadan in the city on Sunday November 2.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Bank chairman Ananthakrishna asked those present at the function, as to why do the women writers usually deal with only the problems faced by women in their works.
This is a male dominated society. Still, women have risen to the positions of the Prime Minister and the President of the nation. In most of their stories, women writers focus only on the plight of women. Even the men do face a lot of problems and the authoresses should write about them as well from their angle, he advised, presiding over the function.
The books, 'Ayke' by K Shashikala Udupa and 'Edeya Mullugalu' by Devika Nagesh were released on the occasion.
President of the Coastal Authoresses and Women Readers Association Chandrakala Nandavar was present. Parameshwari Lokeshwar and Vijayalakshmi Shanbhogue introduced the literary works. Chaitra and Ratnavathi Bykadi rendered some lyrics.
