Mangalore, Nov 3: City police nabbed a notorious thief, wanted in 19 theft cases, on Saturday November 1. He has been absconding for six years.
The arrested is Muneer Ahmed (47), a resident of Bunder locality. DCIB police led by D Darmayyam deputy superintendent of police, and Tilakachandra, sub-inspector, Pandeshwar, arrested Ahmed in Bunder area.
Ahmed’s name is listed in most police stations in Karnataka and Kerala and is wanted in a series of cases of burglary, cheating, car lifting and others since the past 6 years. DCIB police arrested Ahmed as he was attempting yet another theft at a house in the area..
Ahmed has been remanded to judicial custody till the next hearing. Meanwhile, a Kerala court has also issued a warrant for him for car theft. DCIB police Sitaram Gowda, Tirumaleshwar Satish, M N Mani, Umesh Chetalike, Chetan Botwady, and Ravinath Mulky, were involved in the operation.
