Udupi, Sep 28: Sanchalana Udupi is a team of creative youths founded for social cause by Nandakishore S. It has been helping the poor, deprived, needy people and the sick by providing financial assistance.
On the occasion of Ganesha Chathurthi, Pradeep Brahmavar who wore the costume of ‘Krampus 2’ character, entertained people without having food for two days. Everyone has praised the selfless attitude of Pradeep for collecting money in two days and sustaining only by drinking water. Santhosh Pithrody designed the dreadful costume for Pradeep.
This time, the team decided to help Dhanush, a resident of Sasthan near Brahmavar suffering from a deadly disease ‘Guillain Barre syndrome’ who has been admitted to KMC hospital, Manipal. Doctors of KMC had reported that the treatment costs Rs 7 lac. After losing his father, Dhanush is the only hope of his family. Now it is a difficult for Dhanush’s family to lead their life. Sanchalana team, who realised the worse situation of this family, came forward to lead a helping hand to them. The collected fund was handed to the beneficiary Dhanush on September 26.
Last month, Sanchalana team also helped Deeksha Kunder, daughter of Umesh Kunder of Brahmavar. This three-year-old kid was suffering from blood cancer. The team donated Rs 1 lac for her treatment.
Sanchalana group also raised fund during Shobhayathra of Ganesh Chaturthi festival held at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district and participated in the Ganesh Chathurti festival competition held at Brahmavar and secured first place. People of Puttur, Udupi and Brahmavar have greatly cooperated.
Sanchalana team president Nandakishore said that he will always be grateful to all the folks for their help towards this campaign.
Within two months, this selfless team has collected and donated Rs 7 lac to poor, orphans and disabled. This team has even adopted many orphans in Udupi district.
Sanchalana team has planned many future projects to help poor students, provide financial support for aided and government schools, meeting the concerned department officials to solve problems, contributing encouragement fund for needy students, books, bags and paying exam fees, conducting awareness campaign for students about important education and many more.
The team comprises 16 members including college students.
