Bengaluru, Sep 25: Like some high flying persons who have fled from the country after defaulting loans raised from banks, sources say that there is a possibility that a person named Sachin Nayak, a real estate businessman from the city, having fled the country probably to Singapore. Sachin, sources say, had promised hundreds of people to provide them sites, apartments and houses at very reasonable rates, and collecting crores of rupees from them, and then making good his escape.
Reportedly, Sachin Nayak and two women who claimed to be his wives, had collected hundreds of crores of rupees from about 7,000 persons between 2011 and 2016. They dealt with names like Dreamz Infra, Gruha Kalyan and TGS. Several complaints have been registered against them in Madiwala and some other police stations here, and currently criminal investigation department (CID) is pursuing the cases.
It has been over two years since the fraud came to light, and CID is yet to file charge sheet. Many have accused the department of being lethargic in its investigation. As per information, Sachin, who secured conditional bail during September last year, did not appear before the investigating officers thereafter. As he has remained away from investigation since a year, the court has issued arrest warrant against him. While there are strong doubts about him fleeing the country, but CID officials believe he is in the country, based on their information that he does not possess a passport.
