Bengaluru, September 22: As crisis looms over HD Kumaraswamy government, the chief minister’s family famous for ‘temple run’ took part in a special puja at Sringeri temple on September 22.
Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy arrived at Sharada Peetha by helicopter to attend the rituals and also took blessings of Mutt’s pontiff Bharathi Thirtha swami.
JD(S) Supremo H D Devegowda and his wife Channamma, Kumaraswamy along with wife Anita and HD Revanna and wife Bhavani and son Prajwal took part in special rituals at the temple.
Devegowda who often holds different pujas in the temple, had performed 12-day Ati Rudra Mahayagya earlier this year, and devotees believe that this was the main reason for Kumaraswamy’s rise in politics making him the chief minister. Kumaraswamy had made a point to visit the temple on May 22, a day prior to the swearing-in ceremony.
The political tussle for power between coalition partners JD(S) and Congress and the BJP seems to have touched its peak. BJP is currently asking Governor Vajubahai Vala to book Kumaraswamy under sedition law for giving call to people to protest against BJP.
The BJP has mocked Kumaraswamy’s temple run and in a tweet asked Goddess Sharadamba to bestow wisdom to the CM so that he focuses on the state’s development, rather than provoking revolt.
