Mangaluru, Sep 21: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s call for people to ‘rise in revolt’ against the BJP for trying to topple the state government was severely condemned by the district BJP who protested outside DC’s office on Friday, September 21.
Addressing the protestors, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty demanded that the chief minister apologises. “Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy looks tensed and has crossed his limits by asking people to revolt against BJP. Our leaders were assaulted during the protest held outside Yeddyurappa’s residence. I feel this was pre planned by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should apologize for his words because he will soon become former chief minister,” said Shetty.
Sullia MLA S Angara said, “Coalition government should provide good administration but they have utterly failed. Even the development works have slowed down and they should be ashamed of their administration. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should take back his words".
District BJP general secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta said, "BJP had every chance to form the government in state. Just for the sake of defeating Modi they have united. Since the start of coalition government, there is no development. There is failure in law and order. Coalition government should give strength to the people, they should be ashamed of the way they are ruling the government. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should apologize for his words".
Corporator Pooja Pai and others were present.
