Kundapur, Sep 16: Chandrakanth Marakala (32), a fisherman from Koravadi village near Koteshwar here, went missing suddenly from near the Hindu graveyard on national highway 66 at Koteshwar at around 3 am on Saturday September 15.
Chandrakanth, son of Narayana Marakala from Kumbhashi near here, also works as home guard volunteer. On Saturday, he had left his home in his motor bike for undertaking fishing, but disappeared without a trace from Koteshwar. His motor bike, helmet, footwear, mobile etc were found near the graveyard stated above. As his disappearance gave rise to suspicion and theories, friends and locals supported by the police undertook extensive search but failed to achieve any result.
Chandrakanth, father of a child, had good relationship with his neighbours. On the basis of complaint filed by his brother, Kundapur police have registered missing case. Police sub-inspector, Harish, visited the spot and put together details. The police are investigation on a few points they have put together and feel that they might get some breakthrough in a day or two.
Some locals feel that some vehicle would have hit Chandrakanth in pitch dark conditions and would have carried him in their vehicle thereafter. However, the scene at the spot did not give any evidence to support this theory. Therefore, there is suspicion that he would have been kidnapped.
