Mangalore, Oct 28: Viani Antonio D’Cunha of St Aloysius High School and Vanessa D’Souza of St Agnes High School, emerged champions in the Under-14 boys’ and girls’ categories of the state-level inter school chess tournament held at Maratha Mandal Mangal Karyalaya, Nippani, Chikkodi of Belgaum district, recently.
Gahan M G of Canara Boys’ High School and Pavitra Jagtap of Bangalore, were declared champions in the Under-17 boys’ and girls’ category. The top five players in each category will represent the state in the forthcoming National School Chess Tournament to be conducted by the School Games Federation Of India (SGFI).
