Tumakuru: Seeking water from Hemavathi to Turuvekere, BJP MLA sheds tears

Tumakuru, Sep 15: BJP MLA, who has undertaken hunger strike demanding to divert water from River Hemavathi to the canals of his Turuvekere constituency. He shed tears in the presence of media persons on Friday September 14.

Jayaram began his protest against what he termed as non-cooperative attitude of the government. He blamed the government for meting out step-motherly treatment to his area as he belongs to BJP.

"Nine constituencies here have been declared as drought-hit. But Turuvekere has not been considered as drought-hit. The deputy chief minister has been showing partiality and neglecting Turuvekere constituency," he explained. He claimed that water is being released from the reservoir to other taluks but not to Turuvekere.

Jayaram's decision to hold protest has the support of BJP leaders and people of the constituency.

    Once the election is over then people of karnataka and their problems should be given preference and not differentiate between parties. Our request to the govt in karnataka to please help the drought hit people first and try to solve their problems others God will never forgive you people for deifferentiating among peoples of karnataka
