Lucknow, Sep 10: Noting that the girl with whom the boy's marriage was fixed had addiction to WhatsApp, the family of the groom cancelled the marriage on the day of marriage. This incident happened at Saugaon Sadat village in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh.
The said marriage was fixed on September 5. On the day of the marriage, everyone was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the groom's family and relatives. But no one arrived. Father of the bride, Uroz Mehendi, growing suspicious, called the groom's family.
Kwamar Hyder, father of the bride, noted that the girl uses too much of WhatsApp. "She has been sending messages to her would be brothers-in-law even on the date of her marriage. We are fed up by her behaviour. Therefore, we have decided to cancel this marriage," Hyder added.
Mihendi, who was taken aback by this development, repeatedly pleaded with the groom's family to reconsider its decision but in vain. Mihendi later filed a complaint against the groom's family under provisions of dowry harassment. "The groom's family had placed a demand of Rs 65 lac as dowry. On this issue, they have cancelled the marriage. They are unnecessarily making allegations against my daughter," he said.
