Mangaluru, Sep 7: A huge stray bull has been spotted roaming between Kulur and Panambur from the past two weeks with a massive tumour on its head. With the first glance itself, it draws pitiful reactions from passers-by and daily commuters.
Speaking to daijiworld, Satya Prakash, a resident of Surathkal said, “The bull is right now at Kudremukh Circle near Kulur bridge. Since last two weeks, it is roaming in this area with a tumour on its head. Sometimes crows sit on the head of the bull and poke the tumour. Locals are gravely upset that no one has shown any mercy to the suffering animal. It is difficult to approach the bull. It should be tranquilized and take to a veterinary facility without any delay.”
Rajanath, a migrated labour from West Bengal who resides near NMPT said, “Last week I saw the bull near Kulur bridge. I and my friends tried to approach the bull with an intention to check the situation. But when reached near the bull, we understood that it is difficult to touch the bull. A very foul smell emanates from the bull. Thousands of people pass by this area and watch the painful situation of bull. I wonder how no one has informed the veterinary department or concerned authorities.”
Rehman, an auto driver said, “Three days ago, I informed the veterinary hospital situated in Mangaluru about the bull. But still, no one has responded. It looks like the bull suffers from horn cancer. We need to shift the bull from the road side. Otherwise, there are chances of the disease spreading to other animals.”
The pictures and videos of the bull are being circulated in social media. As per locals, they have repeatedly informed the veterinary department. But their efforts have gone vain. No official or doctor visited the bull. Resident meanwhile fear that the tumour will make the bull suffer and also lead to health hazards for people residing in the area.”
