ICYM-YCS of Puttur parish hold inter ward rainy games competitions with 'Monsoon Showers'

Puttur, Sep 4: ICYM and YCS units of Mai De Deus parish here, on Sunday September 2 organised ‘inter ward rainy-games competitions’ at the quadrangle of St Phelomena High School here.

Fr Alfred J Pinto parish priest of Mai De Deus parish inaugurated the 'Monsoon Showers' by breaking a ‘Magical Pot’ which was erected in between the sprinklers. J P Rodrigues, vice president of the parish council, Fabian Goveas secretary of the parish council, Dimple Fernandes, co-ordinator and Naresh Lobo animator YCS, Gavin Macarenhas, president of ICYM, Lianna Rodrigues, secretary of ICYM and Cleevan Miranda YCS president were present on the dais.



Fr Alfred J Pinto in his speech cheered and graced the function of 'Monsoon Showers - 2018' by YCS and ICYM unit, Puttur. He congratulated all the participants of 14 wards and thanked the audience for encouraging the participants by their valuable presence. Games were conducted for all the participants and audience of various age groups by Alwyn and the team from Mangaluru.

Adding to the fun and entertainment, the kids, youth and couples were invited to dance under the amazing fountain-showers. The humorous and exciting games were organized for all age groups. Everyone participated in the fun and frolic of falling on each other in the water and muck, feeling the softness of nature. In the musical fountain and all the other extraordinary water games children and youth enjoyed to their hearts content. In addition, attractive dances performed by the youth of ICYM and YCS attracted the crowd. The youth received a downpour of applause and were congratulated by the audience for the wonderful and systematic organization of this magnificent and awesome event.

The results of the events were announced by Jane Miranda. Prizes were distributed by the vice president and secretary of the parish council. Consolation prizes were distributed to the rest of the wards for their active participation. This was followed by a ‘Baila Dance’ by all the children and youth.

Gavin Macarenhas, president of ICYM welcomed the gathering. Dimple Tauro, Amcho Yuvak Prathinidhi delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Cleevan Miranda YCS president and Jane Miranda, treasurer of ICYM.
