Tumakuru, Sep 2: Following recent statement by Zameer Ahmed Khan, minister of Food, Civil supplies, minority and Wakf department that Muslims who voted for BJP are not genuine Muslims, Sogodu Shivanna, former minister has urged police to register cases against the minister.

Speaking to reporters, he said that his statement affects communal harmony. “The minister belongs to Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s group. It is necessary to prevent such statements that affect the unity of the country. We need to preserve Hindu culture so that we may not be spoiled.”

“MLA Basanagounda Patil has been requested to raise the issue in the assembly. It is unwise to continue him as the minister,” he said.

He criticized AICC president Rahul Gandhi for his Amarnath Yatra. “Congress leaders called us communal when we went on Amarnath Yatra. But Congressmen themselves are visiting temples and Maths now,” he said.
