Mangaluru Sep 1: CCB head constable Chandrashekar N A has been selected for chief minister’s medal, for his dedicated service.
N A Chandrashekar is one among five police personnel from the district who has been selected for this medal. DCIB inspector Sunil Y Naik, Urwa police inspector Ravish Nayak, Ullal Sub inspector M Sundar and Bantwal civil head constable Uday Rai are also selected for chief minister’s medal from Dakshina Kannada district.
Chandrashekar N A hails from Kasargod, and is the son of late Appayya Maniyani and Yamuna Kula. He is the alumni of Sarvodaya High School, Sullia and has won many accolades as a state level Kabbaddi player.
In the year 1997, Chandrashekar N A served at Ullal Police station, from then he went on to serve at Panambur Highway crime squad, District SP crime squad, Anti rowdy squad. Presently, Chandrashekar N A is serving as head constable at CCB Mangaluru.
Chandrashekar has played a prominent role and was part of investigative team in high profile cases like Ullal K C Road double murder case, Polali Ananthu murder case, Ullal Narasimha Shettigar murder case, Candle Santhu murder case, district congress leader Mallur Jabbar murder case, Ullal Raju Kotian murder case, Thokkotu Safwan murder case, Kalia Raffeq and Iliyas murder case.
Chandrashekar was also part of the investigating team in the murder cases of Deepak Rao, Basheer, Sharath Madivala, Kalai Ashraf. He has investigated sensational theft cases such as the theft at Kateel priest’s house, SCDCC bank 52 kg gold theft case, Moodabidiri Jain Basadi idol theft and many more.
Along with the help of senior officers, Chandrashekar has succeeded in arresting Rashid Malbari, has made arrests in Ullal communal riots and seized 52 kg Ganja in Mangaluru.
For his achievements Chandrashekar N A has been conferred 55 appreciation letters, more than 50 cash prizes, and now is selected for chief minister’s medal for the year 2017.
