Ballari, Aug 27: The decision to support JD(S) is taken by the high command. Accommodating JD(S) state unit president H Vishwanath in the coordination committee is also left to the high command, said former chief minister Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to the reporters in Ballari after unveiling the statue of Sangolli Rayanna on August 27, Monday, Siddaramaiah made it clear that the coordination committee only ensures coordination between coalition partners Congress and JD(S).
He dismissed a question on whether he will become chief minister if the coordination committee decides. “Such matters are not discussed in the meetings,” he said. However, in Chamrajanagar, Agriculture Minister Shivashankar Reddy had hinted that Siddaramaiah would become CM if the coordination committee took a decision.
Reddy also brushed issues between Congress and the JD(S) as rumours. Solutions pertaining farm loans will be taken by the coalition government in two months, he said.
Taking a dig at former CM B S Yeddyurappa, Reddy said that though Yeddyurappa presented a separate budget for agriculture, it did not help anybody. The BJP did not waive farm loans, he said.
