Madikeri, Aug 26: The government had instructed officials of all the departments to sincerely discharge their duties to the flood-raved district by undertaking full responsibility. But it has been observed that some of the officials neither attended the meetings held with the participation of ministers, nor did they visit the affected areas to help in flood relief work.

Taking umbrage at the neglect shown by these officials, Kodagu district deputy commissioner, P I Sreevidya, has issued orders suspending four officials. They are Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd executive engineer here, Panduranga, assistant executive engineer, Ramesh, assistant engineer, Pramod, and assistant director in youth empowerment and sports department, Jayalaxmi Bai.
