Udupi, Aug 26: Udupi Power Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Adani Power Limited, in hands with its CSR Arm - Adani Foundation on Saturday, August 25, inaugurated 3 concrete roads in the villages of Tenka gram panchayat (GP), Udupi Taluk.

The 240 metres length Poondadu-Admar road, 292 metres length Veerabhadra Temple road, 150 metres length High School road, which were concreted and development by Adani UPCL at a cost of Rs 33.57 lac under its CSR programme were inaugurated and made open to public jointly by Kishore Alva, Joint President of Adani UPCL and Aruna Kumar, president of Tenka gram panchayat.

Inaugurating the newly concrete roads, Kishore Alva informed that Adani UPCL has earmarked a separate CSR grant of Rs 2.56 crore for the infrastructure development in the villages of Tenka panchayat over a period of 3 years and already development works worth Rs 25 lac have been completed. With the inauguration of three concrete roads, Adani UPCL has executed development works worth Rs 53.57 lac and additionally four works are in completion stage, Alva told.

Kishore Alva further informed that company is taking-up the works as per the action plan submitted by panchayat year-on-year against the declared CSR grant of Rs 2.56 crore for a period of three years. The works mentioned in action plan for the year 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 would be completed by end of December 2019, he added. He also told that the works submitted by panchayat for the year 2016-17 have been completed and the contracts for the works for the year 2017-18 are in award stage.

Thanking Adani UPCL for its CSR works, Aruna Kumar, president of Tenka gram panchayat, told that the company apart from the Village Infrastructure Development works, it is also contributing to many other social development activities for the benefit of the society under its CSR.
