Bantwal, August 26: “The success in the local municipal council elections is very important for Congress. It should be a prelude for the progress of Congress party. Thereby saffronization of the coast needs to be prevented,” said Karnataka Pradesh Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao.
Speaking in a special meeting held in Bantwal Congress office for activists and those who contest in municipal council elections on Saturday, August 25, he said “We do not want fights for existence. Bantwal and coast should see the prominence of Congress in the leadership of Rai. Activists should take the last Vidhan Sabha election loss as a challenge and work,” he said.
“The principle of BJP is not right. All those who are in that party are not bad. BJP won because of propaganda. It made us lose with politics of jealousy and revenge,” he said.
He further said, “Immense development programmes have taken place in the state in last Congress term. It has made great achievements in the use of solar power. Karnataka has achieved first place in investment of capital in the country. The country does not prosper by telling lies in the name of almighty. Congress is the party which has formed the country. Therefore, activists should go to the people and strengthen the party once again. Everybody should ask what Mody government at the center has done. It only fools people by slogans and lies.”
Former minister B Ramanath Rai said that Dinesh Gundu Rao has come to the district ahead of municipal council elections. “I will walk on foot to win in present municipal council elections, meeting 80% of the people and encouraging activists. I was the personal target of Sangh pariwar. Therefore, I lost. We should win in municipal council elections. I had entered politics in stages. Win and loss are natural. I am prepared to take loss as a challenge and be in politics. Those who remain with us during our loss are the genuine Congress people. As information technology has grown, we should try to campaign through them,” he suggested.
