Karkala, Aug 25: On Friday August 24, a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, which was negotiating a curve on Kalasa - Karkala highway, got stuck. As the bus could not be moved from that position, traffic on the road came to a standstill.
The bus was bound for Mangaluru. At the road bend at Nellibeedu, the driver could not drive the bus through a sharp bend. The problem turned serious after it was found that the bus could neither be moved forward nor backward. Even though other bus staff and the general public tried their best, the bus that had got stranded could not be moved.
Thereafter, services of a backhoe were summoned. With its help, the bus was dragged backward and then traffic on the road resumed. This was one of the vehicles which had begun to move on Kalasa - Karkala road as heavy vehicles have been denied entry in Charmadi ghat road.
