Karwar, Oct 18: The court of the chief judicial magistrate here has served summons to minister Anand V Asnotikar, asking him to appear before the court on November 14, in connection with the deficient affidavit.
At the time of filing nominations for the assembly election, Asnotikar had failed to show the landed property owned by him at Mudageri,in the affidavit. Congress worker Vishwambhar Talekar, in his complaint filed before the processing of the nomination had pointed out this omission. However, Asnotikar's nomination was accepted and he won as a Congress candidate by a huge margin.
All trouble broke loose after he opted to shift his loyalties to the BJP and become a minister. In an unexpected turn of events, Congressmen have intensified their efforts to floor Asnotikar. Asnotikar will now have to defend his act or face court proceedings.
