Udupi, Aug 21: Konkani Manyata Diwas was celebrated at Milagres College by AICUF on August 20.

Prof Melwin Rego, HOD of Sociology, presided over the function. Dr Gerald Pinto was the guest of honour. He asked the students to carry Konkani language and tradition to next generation. Prof Melwin Rego appreciated the work of the students and advised them to organise Konakni Festival for the next Konkani Recognition Day and assured all help.

During the occasion exhibition on Konkani culture and poetry writing was organized and winners were given prizes.

In Exhibition, second BCom B won the first place and second BCom A won the second place.

In poetry writing, the first place was won by Renita D’Souza of second BCom followed by Sahana Prabhau of III BSc and Lavita Cardoza I BCom winning second and third places respectively.

President of AICUF Vijeth D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Raina of second BCom introduced the guest. Secretary Lloyd Lewis rendered the vote of thanks. Melisha D’Souza of second BCom compered the programme.
