Mangaluru: ‘Vechogi Raavncho’ witnesses houseful show in Kinnigoli

Mangaluru, Aug 19: After a tremendous hit show in Dubai, Konkani comedy drama ‘Vechogi Ravncho’ by Saangon Mugdana Kalakar, Dubai, received a tremendous response in its first show in India when it was staged to houseful audience at Kinnigoli Church hall recently. The drama was organized by St Paul Church Balkunje in aid of church’s new parochial house. It was a complete brand new experience to more than thousand people who had witnessed a continuous laughter riot of three hours.

In a short stage programme parish priest of St Paul Church Balkunje Fr.Micheal D’Silva honoured all the supporters who helped to stage the mega event. He also honoured writer and director of the drama Pradeep Barboza Paladka and his entire team. Parish priest of Kinnigoli church Fr Mathew Vaz was honoured for all his support to Balkunje parish for making this show a super hit. Along with Fr Micheal D’Silva, vice-president Nelson Lobo was on stage. Dr.Freeda Rogrigues beautifully compered the stage programme.

The story of the drama revolves around a bus stand and two shops attached to it in rural Mangaluru. The drama is a blend of family and love story, comedy and suspense. The script takes interesting turns when nearing the climax and makes the audience to anticipate alternate endings. The characters that come in the drama are common people. The bus stop has become part of their day life and a centre to share their feelings. Daily happenings around the bus stop are depicted in very funny way.

All the actors who were superbly led by Comedy Prince Pradeep Barboza Paladka together with Local Boy Royston Kiran D’Souza Balkunje, Alphonse D’Souza Moodubelle, Godwin Castelino Attur, Helvin Barboza Kulur, Laveena Fernandes Pangala, Venicia Rodrigues Alangar, Paul D’Souza Paladka, Vernon D’Souza Mangalore and Nanu Marol Thottam received tremendous response from the audience. Mind blowing music by Rohan Kalakul doubled the energy of artistes.

All the priests of Kinnigoly deanery and nuns witnessed the super hit drama. The houseful crowd was the witness for the love towards Konkani of people.
