Mangalore, Oct 17: 'Jeevan Jyothi,' a three-day camp for the tenth standard students of Kinnigoli deanery, held at Mary Wale English Medium high school here, ended on Thursday October 16. Nearly 130 students of the eight churches of Kinnigoli deanery attended this camp. Several resource persons enlightened the students, by delivering talks on different subjects and clearing their doubts.
The valedictory function was presided over by Fr Alfred Pinto, dean of Kinnigoli deanery. Fr Melwyn Noronha, assistant parish priest of Kinnigoli church, Fr Sunil of S V D House, Kirem, Sr Levita B S of Medaline Convent, Mulki and Gregory Pinto, vice-president of Niddodi Church, were the chief guest.
On behalf of the students who took part in the camp, Steven Serrao and Ancy D'Souza shared their experiences at the camp. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. In his presidential speech, Fr Alfred Pinto opined that by participating in the camp, the students have made use of the golden opportunity that came their way. This is the age where one can take decision about his future career and also to take and fulfill his responsibilities towards the society and become better citizen of the country, he added.
