Mangaluru, Aug 15: Naveen Kumar (25), a resident of Bijnor Chandpur in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by Kankanady city police on the accusation of cheating in the appointment of Institue of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which is conducted to recruit the probationary officers for nationalized banks.
An entrance exam was conducted on March 4, 2018, for the recruitment in a nationalized bank. In that examination, some other person impersonated as Naveen and wrote the examination. After this, he cleared the IPBS entrance exam that was held at Nitte Education International Institute. The same person, who impersonated as Naveen Kumar, attended the admission of the one year PG diploma course on July 30, 2018, and completed the biometric process also. However, the actual person, Naveen Kumar took part in the training programme.
The officials of Nitte Education International Institute started suspecting the movement of the actual Naveen Kumar, who was participating in the training programme. It came to light while conducting the second biometric process on August 8, along with the officials of the concerned nationalized bank that the biometric is not tallying with the earlier person who posed as Naveen Kumar.
Prima facie it is learnt that actual Naveen Kumar and other two strangers have forged all the school certificates and other documents of him and made an entirely different individual to write the examinations on behalf of Naveen Kumar.
Naveen Kumar was arrested on August 11 and produced to the court. He is remanded to judicial custody.
