Mangaluru: Attempt on rickshaw driver's life - one among two attackers held

Mangaluru, Aug 7: Relating to the verbal altercation in the auto rickshaw park at Kuthar, Ullal here, which snowballed into death threat, one among the two who attacked an auto rickshaw driver stands arrested. The arrested man has been identified as Muhammed Kabeer Tasleem alias Tachchi (21), a resident of Madaninagar here.

This arrest was made for attempting to kill an auto rickshaw driver, Ajith. Relating to auto fare, heated words were exchanged between Ajith and Muhammed Ali, both auto drivers. Relating to this incident, Muhammed Ali had sought help from his relative, Muhammed Kabeer alias Tachchi, who was named as accused already in four past cases.

Both of them then attacked Ajith with a knife, abused him with choicest words, and posted death threats. Ajith escaped from the spot, and went to complain to Ullal police. Muhammed Ali reached there, and threatened Ajith that if he names Tachchi in his complaint, he might lost his own head.

Kabeer alias Tachchi, who has been arrested, is facing four cases for alleged robbery attempt, murder attempt, theft etc.
