Udupi, Aug 6: Dr Jayamala, the new district in-charge minister addressing Congress party workers at Congress Bhavan at Brahmagiri here on Sunday, August 5 said, “A loser must think about the reason for his defeat. Losing and winning is a part of life. While leaders take losing and winning lightly, party workers get disappointed, as they dedicate their life for party works. They treat party like their mother. Party workers are a party’s real strength.”
“After Devraj Urs term, the Congress party gave the best government in terms of performance. It introduced hundreds of schemes and programmes, but a few were not implemented properly. If these programmes were executed and had reached the public successfully, Congress would be the majority party.
“Former CM Siddaramaiah responded well to public problems and he made all effort to enforce public welfare programmes. If present CM HD Kumaraswamy is ready to implement such developmental programmes, it would be really great.
“I will collect opinion from all and will work on priority basis. I have strong faith in working in unity. AICC president Rahul Gandhi is working towards social justice.
“There are many problems and challenges ahead of us. No party is can compete or can be compared with Congress. There may be indifferences, but if we work hard with dedication and commitment, definitely there is no doubt in winning the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Let us work to make reach the developmental plans and programmes to the people in the society. I believe in harmony among people. Congress has given equal opportunity and made all to develop altogether.
“Peace and development of the district is my first priority. People’s interests is very important to me.
“I was brought up in Panambur. Later, we migrated to other place because of the harbour project. I used to come to Dakshina Kannada to participate in religious rituals like kola, nema, naga darsha, daiva worship etc,” she said.
She urged for support from the party workers.
