Mangaluru: Nirmala Hospital Ullal observes Breast Feeding Week

Ullal, Aug 3: The faculty and postgraduate students of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing department on August 2 observed world Breast Feeding Week 2018' on the theme 'Breast Feeding Foundation Of Life' at Nirmala Hospital Ullal.

The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by lighting the lamp as a symbol of knowledge.

Updates on importance of breast feeding for mother and child, techniques of breastfeeding and storage of breastmilk especially for working mothers were given. The talk was delivered through discussion, demonstration video clips, pictures by Merlin. A short video clip Amirtha Bindu was played after the talk. A quiz was conducted during the session to gain participation from the audience.



The audience comprised of more than a hundred including antenatal, postnatal mothers and adolescent girls.

Dr Sr Lenita the obstetrician and gynecologist of the hospital, Sr Emma the administrator of the hospital, Pramila D’Souza the HoD of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Shoba the assistant professor of the department and the staff of the Nirmala Hospital witnessed the programme.
