Kasargod: Murder of Moulvi - high court denies bail to accused

Kasargod, Aug 2: Kerala high court has denied bail to the accused in the murder case relating to Muhammed Riaz Moulvi, teacher of Madrassa at Hale Soorlu here.

Ajesh (20) living near Ayyappa Bhajana Mandir at Kelugudde, Akhilesh (25), living in Gangai Nagar, Kelugudde, and Nitin (25) from Kelugudde had applied for bail in the case.

The three accused had earlier sought bail from the district court here but their application had been turned down. After that they went on appeal to the high court.

Riaz Moulvi, a native of Madikeri, had been killed by some people who barged into a room located inside the mosque compound on March 21, 2017.

An application seeking to book the accused under the provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act is before the high court. It would be heard on August 9.
