Kadaba, Jul 28: ICYM Kadaba unit recently organized 'Green Eyes – 2K18' programme on the occasion of St Joachim’s Feast after the festive mass at St Joachim Church Hall, here.
Frayal Gladson Cross – president, ICYM Kadaba unit welcomed the gathering.
Fr Ronald Lobo – parish priest, St Joachim Church, here presided over and inaugurated the programme by planting a sapling in a pot along with the chief guests Fr Vincent Dsouza – parish priest, Infant Jesus Church, Nellyadi and principal – St Joachim’s Educational Institution.
Fr Anil Roshan Lobo - parish priest, St Rita Church, Panja, Louis Mascarenhas – vice president and Jacintha Veigas – secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, St Joachim Church, Kadaba, Aneesh Lobo, Kadaba – joint secretary, ICYM Central Council Mangaluru diocese, James Crishal Dsouza – president, ICYM Puttur deanery were the guests on the dais. All the guests addressed the gathering on the importance of Vanamahotsava, Drishti (eye donation) and Red Drop Campaign (voluntary blood donation).
As part of the celebration each parishioner received a sapling as a grow green initiative – Each One Plant One. On this auspicious day, awareness drive on Red Drop Campaign and Drishti Project was organized for the parishioners to give them an insight on Voluntary blood donation and eye donation. Majority of the parishioners agreed to pledge for eye donation and to donate blood on regular basis thereby making Green Eyes – 2K18 a success.
