Udupi, Jul 7: District convenor of BJP industrial unit Uday Kumar Shetty Inna addressing media at press club here on Friday, July 6 said, '”The coalition state government has completely ignored the interests of the coastal region in budget. We had a hope that the government will sanction enough grants and good schemes for coastal region, but nothing like that happened.”
“The coalition government is showing stepmotherly attitude towards MLAs coastal districts.
“There is international airport, harbour, Konkan railway and power plants and ample of sources in the coastal region. There is supportive environment for all kind of developments. There are many educational institutions, which are contributing thousands of graduates to the society.
“We were expecting the government to announce plans for promoting small scale industries, which will help those migrating towards other states or nations in search of jobs. But chief minister H D Kumaraswamy led government has kept the coastal region in dark regarding industrial development.
“The BJP industrial unit condemns such anti-industry development budget. The members and coastal industrialists oppose this budget with one voice.
“The budget does not support PM Modi's employment generation plan. Modi is promoting self-employment through Mudra Yojana,” he said.
Perampalli Shankar Kulal, Manjunath Upadhyaya, Denzil Mascarenhas, and Sadanand Prabhu were present.
