Bengaluru, Jul 6: In an incident which happened within the limits of Challahalli village within Rajanukunte police station limits here in broad daylight on Thursday July 5 at around 2 pm, the lady captured the photo of motor bike-borne thieves. The woman has since handed over the photo of the thieves to the police.
Meena (25), wife of Cheluvaraju from Challahalli was walking towards her home with a bundle of green grass over her head, when two men riding a Bajaj Pulsar motor bike took away the Mangalya chain. The man seated in the pillion of the motor bike suddenly tightened a towel around the woman's neck and tried to yank away the chain. When she raised an alarm and held on to the chain tightly, he kicked her in the abdomen a number of times. When she collapsed on account of acute pain, the bike rider approached her and took away the gold chain. In spite of this shocking development, Meena captured the photo of the fleeing thieves in her mobile phone.
The woman is being treated at R K Hospital at Rajanukunte haere. She said that the number plate of the bike in the backside was blank.
Police circle inspector, Siddaraju, deputy superintendent of police, Mohan Kumar, and Rajanukunte police sub-inspector, Madhukar, visited the spot. Police circle inspector, Siddaraju, stated that the picture in the mobile phone shows only a partial glimpse of the men on the bike. He said that CCTV footages from the area would be put together to establish the identities of the robbers.
