Udupi, Jul 1: Implementing new pension scheme, salary of guest lecturers will be my top priority, said Ayanur Manjunath, BJP winning candidate of South West teacher's constituency here on June 30.
Addressing his first press meet at Udupi Town BJP office on Saturday, he said, “I have met guest lecturers of Udupi today and listened to their problems. I have received record votes in the South west Teacher's constituency this time. Around 70% of votes were cast despite heavy monsoon during election. It was possible by the efforts of party workers, MLAs and MPs of BJP. There were 3990 invalid votes and I have won by 12000 votes and I received 28250 votes.”
“I had promised new pension scheme, salary of guest lecturers and I will put my best effort to fulfill them,” he said.
He further said, “The second assembly session will start from Monday, July 2. The notice of session was received just 2 days before it begins. Earlier it used to come at least 10-15 days before. We do not get time to raise questions at the session. We have very less time to discuss. First five days will be reserved for question-answer session, and the remaining five days are reserved for Governor’s joint session. We will discuss the issue of waiving loans of farmers during the session”.
“The misunderstanding in coalition government and differences between former CM Siddaramaiah and DCM G Parameshwara should not stall progress of the state. Farmers should get compensation. Budget is not a mechanized process. It determines economic stand of people.
“There is another big challenge for the government that is giving education loans to students. There are scholar students who face the burden of interest of educational loan who are in need of government help.”
Commenting against the CM Kumaraswamy's statement regarding commission, Manjunath said, “Kumarswamy won the election because of state farmers. They have trusted him for the promise of waiving their loans. He has cheated the farmers now. CM also told that he knew about commission agents. Let him clear who all are involved in this commission scandal. It should not be like hit and run case. I will raise his statement at session.”
Kumaraswamy government has not started functioning even after one month. They are wasting time in blaming each other. How it will sustain coalition government for long time? JD(S) and Congress have made unholy alliance just for the sake of defeating BJP. There are confusions in presenting budget between the Congress and the JD(S).”
“Some of the seers have started criticizing Modi and BJP leaders. If it is possible through settlement, let them do it,” he said.
Regarding Kota Shrinivas Poojary appointed as opposition leader of Legislative council Manjunath said, “I was not a willing candidate or aspirant for this post. The selection was right. I never aspired for this post. Poojary is an experienced, senior and eligible person to this post.”
Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, district BJP president Udupi, Shyamala kundar, State executive member, Sandhya Ramesh, Naveen Kuthyaru, Manohar Kalmady and others were present.
