Dubai, Jun 27: Kannada film, 'Hottegagi Genu Battegagi', which has won over the hearts of art lovers of Karnataka because of its unique storyline, with veteran actor, Anant Nag and Radhika Chetan in the lead, is being released in UAE and Oman on June 28.
This film will be screened in Nova Cinema and VOX cinema in Dubai - Sharjah, Star Cinama and Oscar Cinema at Abu Dhabi, and Star Cinema, Oman, on Thursday June 28. Timings of these shows will be published on Wednesday, June 27.
The film revolves around the mental turmoil experienced by people belonging to two different generations, and also throws light on pros and cons of live-in relationship. No one in the history of Kannada films has ventured to do something of this kind so far. The screen play appears like having been weaved by director, Narendra Babu, with Anant Nag in his mind. This also happens to be a unique role to have been played by Anant Nag in his illustrious career in films.
This film has been made by Sudarshan, Ramamurthy and Mangaluru origin, Dubai-based well-known entrepreneur and singer, Harish Sherigar and his wife, Sharmila Sherigar, in the name, 'Colors of Anekal' under Sherigar couple's Acme Movies International banner.
The film got good response in Karnataka where it was released. Most of the media have given good opinion about this movie, which also has been highly appreciated for the acting prowess of Anant Nag and Radhika Chetan.
Anant Nag dons the role of Shyam Prasad, who joins a job after retirement. Head of that company, Shravya, who looks like confidence personified, her live-in relationship with her friend, minds which suffer because of the bond of relationship that is not based on commitment, are dealt with in this film. Shyam Prasad, who belongs to the bygone era, because of his love for life, turns into an inspiration to the next generation boys.
Some scenes and songs of this movie were shot at Dubai. On the whole, the movie has come off excellently.
The roles played by Anant Nag and Radhika Chetan attract prominent attention in this movie. Both have acted very well. Specifically for Anant Nag, this role suits him too well. Like in the past, he has lived this role. This is a cinema his fans can view this with affection. Radhika Chetan too draws lot of attention from viewers because of her efficient portrayal of her role. Cinematographer, P K H Das, has beautifully captured the passing emotions of the actors. Songs of the film, created by music composer, Ramachandra Hadapad, are sure to make the viewers to yearn to hear them again and again.
