Byndoor, May 23: Newly elected MLA B M Sukumar Shetty and MP’s secretary Purushotham on May 22 inspected the four lane road works in progress from Tallur to Otthinane here.
The farmers face difficulties due to incomplete road works, as due to rains, the mud from the road construction site in Tallur has flooded the nearby fields. Not just that, the incomplete road work has created a blockade for nearly fifty houses. It is the neglect by the IRB Company responsible for the roadwork, blame farmers.
MLA B M Sukumar Shetty who listened to the grievances of the people in this connection took company engineer Devendrappa to task. He asked the engineer to make temporary arrangements to prevent water from entering the fields, to create an alternate road for the affected residents and to take up permanent solutions after the process of land acquisition is completed. He asked the engineer to speed up the road works in Otthinane and ensure that pedestrians and motorists are not put to hardship.
The MLA’s directions came after people discussed the possibilities of accidents in Otthinane due to the half complete road works.
BJP Mandala president Sadananda Uppinakudru, Santhosh Mogaveera, Sanjiva Devadiga, Kiran Devadiga, Krishna Devadiga, Shivaram Kothari and local villagers were present.
