Bengaluru: Contempt of court petition against actress Ramya in SC

Bengaluru, May 2: An advocate has approached the Supreme Court with a request to register contempt of court petition against actress Ramya, who happens to be in charge of social website of Congress party.

An advocate, Arun Kumar, has sought action against Ramya for her derogatory statements against Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, and the judiciary as well as tweets which contain objectionable content against the judiciary.

The complainant has accused Ramya of making statements undermining the honour of the judiciary after chairman of Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu, dismissed the notice of impeachment served against Justice Dipak Misra.

A Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice and Justice A M Khanwilkar refused to take up the petition for emergent hearing.

    Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra had come under the scanner for allegedly transferring sensitive political cases to favourable benches.
    Below are the cases which Ramya tweeted for CJI misra special interest'
    1. Bribery in Prasad Educational Trust Medical College
    2. Appointment of CBI Special Director
    3. An Appeal in the 2G case,
    4. Death of Judge Loya
    5. A case involving MP Shashi Tharoor
    6. Assets of Jay Shah, Aadhaar cases
    7. Appointment of BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra in ONGC,
    8.Appointment of judges
    9. A case under the Land Acquisition Act.’

    In all the above case CJI three bench judges either rejected petition or gave favourable judgment for the accuse.

    There are four senior judges from Supreme Court has revolted against his functioning of his office and raised the dignity of the court. The sex national party has recently submitted impeachment motion against CJI which was rejected by VP Venkaiah Naidu.

    It is only last week Kathua rape and murder victims father asked to transfer the case from J&K to Chandigarh citing threat to life but rejected by CJI Misra. But he has considered the request of two accused in the same case and gave go ahead with CBI inquiry.
    It is the first time in the history of India Judicial is at lowest level where such highest judiciary credibility in question. Before in India it never happened Bar council objecting to criminal court filing charge sheet. In India it has never recorded lawyers thrashing JNU student leader inside the court premises.
    An advocate, Arun Kumar may be insider from Rashtriya swayamsevak Sangh newly formed lawyers wing which is formed after 16th session of Goa meet. His contempt of court is far from reality.
    For any wise thinking lawyer, why would CJI will head the same bench against alliganation is raised?
    Why CJI Dipak Misra only interested in political related cases?
    Why can't he select four judges who are revolted against him?
