Derogatory words on Modi and Yeddy – BJP files complaint against Prakash Rai, Mevani

Bengaluru, May 1: The BJP lodged a complaint with the election commission against national award winning actor Prakash Rai and Gujarat Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani for 'having used defamatory and abusive language' against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP's chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa.

On April 29 addressing a gathering Mevani had said that Modi was a corporate salesman and a thief. He also alleged that Modi has looted the country.

In the complaint the Karnataka BJP has taken strong offence to the kind of language being used by Prakash Rai and Mevani and have urged the election commission to take against the both.

The BJP has also sought action against senior politician A K Subbaiah who made a statement that Yeddyurappa and his lover will run away from Karnataka after the assembly elections.

The BJP has also urged election commission not to allow Rai and Mevani to hold any public rallies in Karnataka anymore.

Jignesh Mevani has been campaigning in Karnataka for the last few days against the BJP ahead of assembly polls due on May 12.

    Such a big and rich national party BJP getting rattled by ordinary individuals like Prakash Rai, Kanhaiya Kumar, Jignesh Mevani etc. Shame, shame, shame. If BJP disagree with them then counter their arguments instead of threatening them with cases. That is how democracy should work.

    BJP leaders know they cant win the election and niether they can face stronest CM Siddaramayya, brilliant speakers like OPrakash Rai, MLS Jignesh Melwani, so they file complaints against them. But people of Karnataka wont elect them one again for sure.

    Modi, age 67 years, did not show the respect they deserve to elders in his own party like LK Advani and Yashwant Sinha. Today it is karma time. He is being attacked for failed policies and governance by people much younger than him :

    the great party which had leaders like Indira gandhi will bite the dust because of these above people. Sadly it is so unfortunate that such foul mouth people are being supported by some people. The more these people abuse there will be much bigger unity among the majority people above cast and religion. these people only create more hate and people will teach a lesson.

    Is there any restriction in Kerala for any Indian to buy a land and settle?
    Prakash Raj will not get any movies henceforth. He should make his intentions very clear whether he is expecting a ticket from Congress. Or else he should settle in Kerala where he can breath freely!!

    If others use such language it is desh bhakti,if Mevani uses it it is derogatory. Every politician must draw a Laxmanarekha in their campaign.voters are matured to differentiate the kind of language used by netas. Even eliciting votes on the basis of religion is also derogatory to democracy.

    Dear BJP and its thugs,

    One word of advice to you – if you cannot stand public criticisms, then please vacate public life and lead a peaceful private life.

    Your own party MLA is accused of raping a minor in UP 10 months back and the whole UP administration rallies behind him to protect him. An 8-year-old is raped & murdered in J&K and your own party MLAs take out a rally in support of those rapists. Not a word from the Mounendra Modi against them and those people are still part of the BJP.

    And when a private citizen or a small time MLA from Gujarat points a finger at the Prime Minister, you take offence and you are deeply hurt?? Height of hypocrisy at its best.

    If this the attitude with which BJP sees every criticism, YOU DESERVE to lose the Karnataka election and 2019 general election.
