Mangaluru, Apr 28: Mangaluru South independent candidate Srikar Prabhu on Saturday April 28 released his election manifesto, and said that if he wins, his first priority would be to rename the Light House Hill road to Mulky Sunder Ram Shetty road and inaugurate it.
"Today we have released our manifesto in which several major issues have been highlighted. The Election Commission has given us the symbol of 'auto rickshaw' for the forthcoming elections. We have already commenced our 10-phase election preparation. In my last 33 years of service I have seen the problems of Mangaluru so we have formed this manifesto based on the needs of the people," Srikar Prabhu told the media after releasing his manifesto at his election office at Bunts Hostel here.
"My priority is to inaugurate and rename the Bavuta Gudda road (Light House Hill road) to Mulky Sunder Ram Shetty Road, to provide water daily within three months of time, and within a year's time to make proper underground drainage facility in Mangaluru, give no scope for illegal buildings in Mangaluru, to create more people-friendly atmosphere in government offices, and to curb traffic congestion in the city within six months.
"Constructing a new fish market, new playground, swimming pool, development of water bodies, service roads, streetlights in inner roads, road extension, renovation of government offices, improvement in waste disposal, new bus stand, 24-hour emergency service counter, new market, upgrading Central market, maintaining law and order, to restrain drug mafia and illegal activities, and upgrading government hospitals will also be my priority," he said.
"I will conduct public interaction once in a month along with the officials to make sure that several schemes reach the people. The present elected representatives have no intention to work for the people. I want to work for the people and bring in changes, said Srikar Prabhu.
