Bengaluru, Apr 27: Chief minister Siddaramaiah continuing his attack against the BJP in a series of tweets urged the people of coastal Karnataka not to support 'communal-minded' BJP in the upcoming assembly polls.
In a series of tweets, Siddaramaiah said, "BJP leaders do not want people to live in peace. They want to pit people against each other. They want people to beat up each other, burn the district, and play politics in innocents’ death. Theirs is politics in death but ours is politics of life by providing food, milk, a house to live, a job and medicine for our people.
"In Dakshina Kannada out of 7 MLAs two are Muslims, one is a Christian, two are Jains and all belong to minority community. Would it have been possible if majority Hindus were communal? Here once again Congress will come to power," he tweeted.
In another tweet he said, "The BJP leaders are insulting people of their own land and state by comparing coastal people to terrorists and jihadists. People in coast are nation lovers, secular and lovers of brotherhood."
"Last time when Modi visited the coastal region he made a communal hate speech but in three districts BJP managed to win only four seats.
"In the last assembly polls out of 19 constituencies, the Congress won 13 seats. In Dakshina Kannada it bagged 7 seats out of 8, in Udupi it won 3 out of 5 seats and in Uttara Kannada it won 3 out of 6 seats. Two independent MLAs from Uttara Kannada are with Congress now. There is pro-Congress wave in coastal region," he said.
In another Twitter post he has urged people of coastal region not re-elect three BJP MPs who were against the Constitution and spreading hatred in the region.
"Secular people are in majority and the number of communal people is less. In order to fight communal forces the secular people must get united and raise their voice. We need to be strong and united when there is any attempt to divide the society," he tweeted.
